Excellent news!   OLPC will be shiping another 400 laptops to Haiti Partners and Waveplace this winter, which brings our Haiti laptop total to 750.  We’ve spent a great deal of time laying the foundation, visiting and talking with a few hundred people, writing a half-dozen reports & presentations, crossing our fingers till they had calluses.  Our work paid off!

We’ve also got an inbox full of organizations that want to work with us.  Beth has been doing an incredible job lining up meets for our trip.  Friday was a real tipping point.  For a week, there was no response. Then all at once, more than we hoped for.

Now I’m tracking a new winter storm that could threaten my Wednesday morning departure.  I’m driving across New Jersey at 2:30am, which roughly coincides with the arrival of a blizzard, or so they’re saying.  Wishing now that I opted for a Miami overnight, though I’m sure I’ll figure something out between now and then.

Last bit of news is that I finally upgraded the Waveplace blog to WordPress with comment spam checking.  Feel free to leave comments to any of these posts.  We’d love to hear from you!
